Personal care and toiletries are also one of the must have for camping. Personal care includes soaps, hand wash, lotion, comb, towel and the likes.  Do not bring too many things. Remember that you are going for a camping.

Now here is the most important must have for camping, the food. The things that you will need depend on the kind of food that you want. Hiking does not only let you go to places you have never been to and experience things you have never encounter but it also builds up your physical and survival strength. It makes you more prepared for situations you have never found yourself to be in before. It is not an easy hobby to take but it is surely a challenging and fulfilling one. Before you start with your new hobby though, you have to prepare a few things. Getting into shape for hiking is the most important preparation you should take.

Hiking is not just walking although it is a part of it. You have to be mentally, emotionally and most importantly, physically conditioned if you want to take this up. If your body and mind are not in good condition, you may find yourself in a dangerous situation. Thus, it is a must for you to get into shape before you hike. Here are a few things you can do to achieve the perfect shape for hiking.

1. Eat a Well-Balanced Diet

Maybe you have heard of this a lot but it is actually very important. Without eating a balanced diet, you cannot have the energy you will need to do such a strenuous activity. Hiking will used up a lot of your energy because you will have to use various muscles in your body. Keeping yourself hydrated is also a must. Drink plenty of water and eat foods which contain vitamins and minerals.

2. Have a Regular Exercise Program

A combination of cardio and weight-lifting workouts will strengthen your stamina and endurance. You need to have stronger lower back, upper back and abdominal muscles. A little stretching will also do you good. It will improve your balance, flexibility and coordination which you will need when hiking.

3. Find Out How Fit You Are

You should have an idea how far you can go and how much you can take. You can practice by walking for a few miles at first. When your body is used to that range, you can gradually increase and make it more complex by walking on steeper slopes. Through this, you will know if you can already take the challenge.

Hiking is never as easy as it may seem. You have to be prepared at all costs. But if you are up for a challenge, hiking is definitely something you should take.

Thinking Of Kid-Friendly Camp Names

Posted by – July 23, 2013

027 Camp NamesDo you want to work on a camping site? One of the requirements is to use camp names. All camp counselors and staff use camp names instead of their real names. But when you think of cam names, make sure that it’s appropriate and respectful and kid-friendly. Make sure that your camp name will not be use for swearing or profanity, a name that won’t give negative feedbacks and thought to children. When it comes to choosing camp names, there are too many to mention that you can choose from, you can even create your own camp name that you can drive from your own name, name of the plants, places, and etc. It will be all up to you.

Now, I know it’s not that easy to think of a name that you will use for a long period of time, a name that you need to get use to it since you will be using it for a long period of time as long as you are working in a camp site. But your name doesn’t have to be that unique, instead, use a name that you will be comfortable when you are called by that name. So, it could be an initial, nickname, or whatever names that you can come with. The only rule like I mentioned earlier is it should be appropriate. Try using names that children would easily remember. If you want some suggestions, there are lists of camp names that you can look online. But those names have already been used by other people. So, if you don’t want to use names that have already been used by others, don’t rush yourself, take your time to think and come up with that appropriate name.

You can try asking some of your friends for suggestions and try to list them down so you can take time to choose. It doesn’t have to be hard and you don’t need to be stressed just coming out with camp name. Don’t worry because once you come up with a cam name, you need to put in your head that it will be your nickname while you are working at camp site. It make take time to get use to it but once you are used to it, you might prefer to be called on that name than your real name and that would be weird but it happens all the time for most camp counselors and staffs.

For those who are adventurous and nature lovers, such activity is something worth giving some time. But, before you proceed on leaving your home and going to the camp site, it is imperative that you are fully prepared first for the activity.  This can be achieved by enhancing your knowledge first about the activity as well as the place where you will be camping. And, in order to avoid having problems before and after camping, it is a great idea to first create a camping checklist to ensure that you will be able to bring all the necessary items you need such as food and shelter. You actually do not have to bring a lot of items with you for they might just cause you a lot of burden.

So, what should be on your camping checklist? What you will be listing on the checklist will depend on the type of camping you will go to and how long you will be camping, especially when it comes to the amount. The camping site will also play a huge factor on your list. There are a few items that should be on your list no matter where or until when you will be camping. These items are necessary for they will help you survive the outdoors whatever may happen.

First of all, you need to bring enough water and food supply. Bringing canned goods and other packed goods that are easy to cook or can be eaten right away is a must. Another item that should not be missing on your list is the emergency kit. You cannot predict if when or where accidents may happen and it is just imperative that you bring along with you an emergency kit that includes a first aid kit, whistles, flashlight, hand set radio, and extra batteries. Of course, you need to include in your list all the necessary camping equipment such as your tent, sleeping bag, pillows, extra clothing, and cooking utensils. And last, but not the least; make sure that you bring along with you a detailed map of the camping site.

Being fully prepared is always necessary every time. Near To A Beach, Waterfalls, Or River

Another great location where you can really enjoy your camping activity is your spot is located near a beach, waterfalls, or river. The great about being near in water is you can do a lot of water activity like swimming, fishing, boating, diving, and so on. That is why if you are camped near the waters, surely you will all enjoy your time there. Another benefit is you will feel that cold breeze from the beach of water and you will have those cool nights, which can be perfect for your bon fire activity. There so many best camping sites which are located near the waters. But also need to be careful with dangerous water creatures like alligators, snakes, and crocs. When you camp, you need to divide your responsibilities to keep everybody safe from any harm. If possible you should always go on twos, never go alone and discover the area because if something bad happens to you, there will be no one to help you or call for help. Always keep that in mind.

Camping Spot

The area should also have a camping spot where you can pitch your ten and other things. The text should serve as your safety area for your things and also for you during the night. Always have someone to watch over your things. Avoid leaving your things unattended because there might be wild beast that will snap your things and eat your food. Your food can attract other animals, which is why you also need to learn how to get rid of them.

Those are just my three best tips to find the best camping sites. You could take them into consideration in order to have fun and safe camping experience.
