    The Language of Love

    September 27, 2007

According to this my primary love language is PROBABLY Physical Touch. (They can’t say definitely just in case you disagree and decide to go postal on them.)

    These are my numbers:

    Physical Touch: 11
    Acts of Service: 8
    Quality Time 6
    Words of Affirmation: 4
    Receiving Gifts: 1

OMSH did this over at her site so of course I took the test. (I’m one of those people who’ll take the tickle IQ test twice a year.)

It’s actually pretty accurate. I’m a huggy person who likes to cuddle (unless I’m PMSing and then you better keep your distance), I’d rather give someone something than get something, and talk is cheap. I’ll jump in head first to help someone but hesitate to ask for help.

So tonight I’m going to make Shawn take the test. He’s gonna love me so much.

    What’s your love language?

    Clifford the Big Red Truck*

    September 26, 2007

Shawn has gotten two new toys, both in the same day.

On Monday he was given a 1988 Honda dirt bike, in pieces, from his boss. Then that night we traded our Saturn for a 1974 Red Ford Pick-up. It’s in excellent condition. It has a camper shell, carpet kit, and bench seat with seat belts that bolts to the bed. This is great because it’s a standard cab, which means a bench seat for three, and we need it to seat four. (Rapunzel is thrilled that they get to ride in the back.)

Shawn has been eying this truck since the day he moved into the apartment and saw it out the bedroom window. It’s his dream truck. He’s owned another truck like this before but he sold it to a relative and then they rolled it. He still doesn’t like to talk about that. So now he’s in 7th heaven.

It looks kinda like this, but it’s taller.

*It was named by the guy he works with. As soon as I can get a picture of it in the daytime I’ll post it here for all to see.

    Sound Off

    September 24, 2007

Did anyone watch the Emmys? Me neither, but I still heard about it.

Can you guess where? At church yesterday. When listening to this during the service I was appalled.

My first reaction was shock then came the anger. She can be kinda crude sometimes but she was also pretty funny.  But this was definitely no laughing matter. We all do or say things we shouldn’t and this would definitely qualify as a don’t.

There are lots of articles out like this and this.  It was even removed from the E! broadcast that was aired. Her reaction was that she must be the only Catholic with a sense of humor.

Well let me tell you this Kathy, it wasn’t funny. I don’t know why everyone was laughing. The one person who deserved the credit was Jesus. If it wasn’t for Him you wouldn’t have the gift of comedy.

In the first clip the comment was made that at the Superbowl they thank God and that it’s all kinda bogus. Who else should you thank? Yes, you probably couldn’t get there without your trainers, and managers and family, but if you didn’t have the ability you wouldn’t be there at all. That ability that was given to you by God.

People wouldn’t thank Him for those things if they didn’t mean it. So you shouldn’t deny Him those thanks if you don’t mean it.

The Pastor spoke of a woman he knew who got up in front of the entire church, stuck her finger in the preachers face and said that neither man nor God would make her  wear a hat in church. The next morning when she woke up all of her hair was on her pillow. She was bald until the day she died.

I wonder what Kathy would say to this if she truly believed in Him.  Or maybe she would be struck speechless.

    Etsy for Everybody!!!

    September 23, 2007

My Etsy store is finally up and running. I have one item listed, but am already working on another. As soon as I finish an item I’m going to post it.

This is so fun for me. I really enjoy knitting and if I can make a go at this I can get things like double pointed needles. I covet double pointed needles. It’ll be great to make a hat and not have to sew it up.

Hopefully I’ll be adding more items as early as tomorrow. The first hat only took me a few hours. Hopefully the others will go as smoothly.

    I love this.

In other news, church this morning was great. We even ran into Rapunzel’s 3rd grade teacher. Everything is looking up and God is good.

*Bethany Actually pointed out that I forgot to tell you the name of my Etsy store. It’s ComfortablyCrazy
