The Viking Run was a success.
SuperChic completed 19 laps, the average for Kindergarten and First grade is 15 laps. She completely outdid herself, as Grandma put it.

Rapunzel completed 22 laps, with an average of 21 for 4th and 5th graders.

While Rapunzel was disappointed to fall short of her goal, which is ultimately to do more than she did the previous year, she had a good time. So she ran with Maddy and SuperChic when it was their turn to run, even though she gets no credit for it. So she probably did about 30 laps altogether.
I missed Rapunzel’s run because I was in a meeting with the teacher and vice-principal. SuperChic will be repeating kindergarten next year, and she is not being suspended over the knife incident. Which the vp pointed out that had it been turned in to the admin like it was supposed to be she would have been suspended immediately. They also agree that seeking an anger management/counselor/therapist for her would be beneficial, I mentioned we were looking into it, they support the idea.
By the time I made it outside Rapunzel was chomping away at her bigstick and goofing off like the rest of the kids. The second graders came out and we went over to cheer Maddy on. I ran a few laps with her and so did Rapunzel.

We went home uploaded the cameras and went back at 1:45 to watch SuperChic. Where I ran some more and gave myself very sore shins, but it was worth it. SuperChic was so happy to have us there, and especially to have us run with her. Though she did try to get me to run while carrying her a few times. I told her that that was cheating and the lap wouldn’t count, and that I wasn’t going to do it. She stopped asking.

They all were awarded “medals” for running, and they are all VERY proud of them.

Though this is what totally made my day.

I am glad they had fun! I remember a Jog-a-thon we had at my school growing up. As we completed a lap – they slipped a rubber band on our arms. I have no idea why that is the ONE thing I remember about it

just wondering – is anger management being rec’d because of the knife issue, or, because of something else? Seems a little harsh.
Good work on raising those 2 girls, btw. You have my respect!
She has always had anger issues, even as an infant. If she gets really upset or angry she’ll get a bloody nose. The knife thing wasn’t associated with any anger, it was just on the keys she took to school, just like some days she takes her baby doll or bear.

Looks like the girls had a lot of fun at the run. Nothing like getting kids out running, I love to see it. And the medal photo is priceless.
Sorry to hear that Super Chic will be repeating kindergarten, I didn’t think they did that anymore in the lower grades. My Hubby did grade one twice, we laugh now because he has three degrees and was on the honour roll and just taught himself how to speak French (just to offer encouragement).
