Today started out fairly normal.
Tom, Sue, SAJ, BB, Rapunzel, and SuperChic all went to meeting this morning, and Shawn and I went to church.
Rapunzel asked to be baptized shortly after Shawn left for Nebraska. It has taken awhile to make the arrangements for it. One week one person would be gone, the next another. This week was finally the right time. So, after church and meeting we all headed to Grandma’s house for Rapunzel’s baptism. Her Papa baptized her. It was very short, sweet, and to the point.
Of course SuperChic decided to be her normal self and sulk. It took a few minutes to figure out what was wrong, but once I did it was easily remedied. It should have been obvious. She wanted to be baptized also. So a quick change for her, and into the pool she went.
After everyone was dry we piled into the car and drove to dinner. Have I mentioned our new favorite restaurant? No. Oh, well, I’ll have to change that. Johnny Carino’s is our new go to place. As much as I love Olive Garden, Carino’s is better.
After a very filling lunch we headed to the mall. I had a few things to return, and the guys wanted to get an internet card for Sampson. We figured 20 minutes and we’d be done. I don’t know who we were kidding. 20 minutes, hah.
We had enough time for me to get these
and this.
I usually don’t venture into Gap to buy clothes for myself. The last few times I did I was really disappointed. Today was not the case. SAJ went in and scouted out some items and then came and got me. I was impressed. Not only did they fit, they fit well. Being 5’1″, 150 lbs, and busty is not an easy body to dress. I was even happier with the prices.
The white top was $23.99, the jeans $41.99, and the busty blue sweater, $6.79. After $20 in giftcards, I only paid $53. I was very happy.
So BlogHer here I come and I ain’t no hick no mo’.
SAJ was kind enough to take photos of me in the magic light. Have I mentioned lately how great she is? If not, you should know she is, and if I have, well, it won’t hurt for you to hear it again.

Gap huh? Way cool. Ours is only 50 miles away. A nice afternoon I’ll head on over and see what I can find. I’m only 5 foot tall so there’s hope! Yay.
You look FAB by the way! So pretty!

You look lovely! I really like the shade of that denim and I love how you have two totally different looks going with the same pair of jeans.
You’re going to BlogHer? How fun! I hope to attend one day!

What an important day for your daughters and I can’t think of anything that could make you feel so secure as being babptised by your own grandfather.
I think you look very smart too, just wonderful photographs. Living anywhere with palm trees seems so exotic to me

I love your new outfits too!! They look great on you!! Believe me… I know how hard it can be to find clothes. I’m 4″11 and in the 160s… though I just had a baby 2 months ago so I’m using that as an excuse for why I’m so fat. I can use that excuse for a year, right?

Gotta love when the Gap can actually fill the ‘gap’. Your photos are fantastic, SAJ did a good job, and she had such a great subject. Kudos to you for treating yourself.
And how special that the girls were baptised by Grandpa. Makes me wonder if we should get my Dad back in the water again. Thanks.
