Today it’s official. She’s a Tweeny Bopper.
As of 5:31 am she is the big one-oh. Thankfully I talked her out of waking me up at 5:31 am. She really wanted to. She wanted to be with me the exact second she was born, as she put it. While that’s a nice sentiment, I can wait a few more hours, thank-you-very-much.
We surprised her at school with balloons, a rose, cake, and punch. She turned a lovely shade of red when I walked in the door and everyone started singing. It was probably one of the most embarrassing and fun things I have done to her. But hey, when you hit double digits it’s a big deal.
So big that she made a sign to pin to the back of he shirt to wear to school. So big that I had to paint 10’s on her fingernails, but I refused to do her toes, they still looked nice from Mother’s Day. So big that she has been talking about this day for weeks.
I think she was just as excited about today, her actual birthday, for which we had absolutely nothing planned, as she was her actual party.
After school we are taking her out to “dinner.” We’ll eat early to get in on the lunch prices. So there will be more photos to come tonight. With an added bonus. Check back tonight to see what it is!
