Long time no see.
I have missed all of you so much in the last two weeks, or is it three? It’s been long enough that I can’t remember. That’s too long.
I have no actual plans for this post. I don’t know where it is going to walk off to, how long it will be gone, or if it will even continue on in a straight line.
Moving on.
The last few weeks have been spent moving Grandpa into a castle, Grandma into Grandpa’s house, and us all the way into Grandma’s house. Are you confused yet? Just checking, because I know that I am.
Things that I have been missing since July of 2006 have shown up, well, some of them. I am slowly getting things unpacked. Slow is good. If I unpack fast the rest of the house will explode around me and I will never fully recover.
SuperChic is doing very well in school this year. Last years report cards all said that she couldn’t read, write, spell, count, recognize colors, or shapes. This year she got an “S” in everything but reading. “S” means she is meeting grade level standards.
Rapunzel on the other hand has already hit the same rut we deal with every year. She forgets her math book, or her spelling words, or her planner, or her entire backpack. So her report card, not so great. Luckily the teacher has realized her potential and is going to ride her about getting her work completed. He is also going to check her planner everyday before she leaves the class to make sure she has all her necessary papers for her homework. We’re hoping that after a few weeks it won’t be necessary.
Halloween is right around the corner. I haven’t started Rapunzel’s costume yet. Did I mention that she wants to wear it to the fall festival at school on the 24th. I’ll probably start it Tuesday after SuperChic is in school and Shawn is on the road.
I just realized that Rapunzel is asleep on one end of the couch and SuperChic on the other. I knew SuperChic was going to fall asleep, because instead of watching the movie, she covered up with a blanket. Rapunzel on the other hand was completely wired, I thought for sure she’d make it through the rest of the movie.
It has been a rough two days for them. Their friend KK is moving to Virgina on Sunday. They have been friends since 3rd grade. Last night they had a sleepover here. Today we took them to Claire’s to get a necklace, Penny’s to get matching shirts, and Sue’s for photos together. We will see them one last time tomorrow afternoon when I drop off some photos for KK.
I spent yesterday watching my friend’s baby, CM. She is very cute, very good, and loved McDonald’s soft serve ice cream. She ate more than 3/4 of it, including the cone.
Today when we went to leave this is what I saw outside the gate. Yes, I knew they were playing with the wagon on the street. No, I wasn’t worried, it’s not a through street.
Yes, Rapunzel came up with the idea on her own. She was charging a penny a person for her to pull you to the end of the street and back in her wagon. What can I say, she’s resourceful. At least she’s not selling mud pies.
We had raspberry pancakes for dinner tonight. They were very yummy.
I have almost all of my Christmas shopping done. I need a couple of baskets, something for Shawn, Shawn’s special gifts to the girls, and that’s it. Now I just have to make everything.
SuperChic’s birthday is just barely a month away. We’re doing a SSC type party. In other words, I’m going to use my $50 vintage SSC cake pan, whatever SSC paper goods I have left, and fill in everything else with pink and red. It’s basically going to be a pink/red polka dot/stripe party, with SSC thrown in. I have no actual plans. I am making a cake, and will have a pin the berry on the ______. Other than that, I’m clueless. This is not normally the case a month before the party. Usually, everything is planned to the max. I’m not to worried. It’ll all come together.
I think that is everything.
Nope. It’s not.
During 7 Days and just before I made some yummy scones. I will post the recipes sometime this week. My eyes are starting to burn because I forgot to put on my glasses and the font on my computer is tiny so I don’t have to scroll side to side to see the entire page.
On that note, goodnight.

Having a best friend move so far away is going to be hard for the girls, but hopefully with the internet they will be able to keep in touch. The necklaces and matching shirts are very cute.
Good for you for finishing up your shopping early. I have plans for the stuff I am making, but need to get started soon.

Hello I am glad you have updated. I hope your teeth aren’t giving you problems any more. I am impressed with yoru organisation skills regaridng Christmas presetn shopping as well as unpacking a house and helping your family to move multiple times as well. Sounds like you have been busy.
Does Superchic have reading homework everynight? Sitting on my mother reading out picture book’s really helped me as my School teacher was very distracted and rushed which I picked up on even as I child and put me off. Reading time with my mum was special and sparked my interest in reading.
