    Day 30

    November 30, 2008

Tonight we had one last hurrah to celebrate Fall and family. It was a lot of fun.

SAJ was a little frzzled when we got there, but then an almost three year old yelling, “MOMMY< I NEEEEEEEEEEEEED YOU!!!” over and over again can do that to you. Apparently when Shawn and I arrived she calmed down a bit, SAJ said it must have been because the adult/child ratio was in balance. Whatever it was, she was glad for the extra hands to handle the kid.

SAJ planned a great dinner. Turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, yams (NOT candied), green beans, salad, olives, bell peppers, crescent rolls, cranberry relish, and stuffing. I’m pretty sure that was everything. It was all super yummy, but I’m very glad we don’t eat that way everyday. I think I’d be sick.

While I didn’t overindulge at dinner, dessert was enough to put me over the top. Brenda made apple pie, which got sighs of approval from all who ate it. I am sorry to say that I am not an apple pie person. I love the smell of the pie baking. but I don’t really care for the way it tastes.

I provided my standard Holiday dessert. Cheesecake. And not just one cheesecake, but two. A pumpkin cheesecake and a chocolate peppermint cheesecake, or a peppermint chocolate cheesecake. The pumpkin cheesecake is mild and yummy and you can easily eat a whole slice, but not the chocolate one. The chocolate one would make Donald Trump look poor. Paired with a good cup of coffee it was a great way to start an evening filled with giggles, games, and coloring.

    Day 29

    November 29, 2008

    Guess what.

It’s 10:45 pm and I am just now starting the first of the two cheesecakes I am making for tomorrow. But it’s ok, really. Shawn is going to help me. Luckily he’s used to being up until 3 a.m.

The girls are staying with Tom and Sue tonight so they can go to meeting with them tomorrow. That equals peace and quiet while I bake cheesecakes, and a movie too. While that may not seem like something special. To me it is.

To me laying with Shawn on the floor (I don’t have living room furniture) and watching a movie together is better than going out. I don’t have to worry about missing an important part if I have to pee, which I always do. Plus, if I get tired it’s ok if I fall asleep and drool.

The best news yet is that there’s only one more day of NaBloPoMo. Last year I really enjoyed it. This year, not so much, and it shows. I keep trying hoping it will get better, but it’s not. Hopefully my blogging will pick up, but this month was definitely a quantity not quality month and I really hate that.

    Day 28

    November 28, 2008

I should really just give up trying to finish NaBlo, but I’m stubborn. I’m also exhausted. My computer is running really slow, again. This means I can’t process photos, I can barely check my email.

Shawn will be home until his regular run again on Tuesday. This is very nice. Hopefully we can get some things around the house done tomorrow. Plus I have to make cheesecake for our Sunday Thanksgiving. I’m not saying what kind, it’s a surprise.

SuperChic is yelling for me/at me, again. That seems to be a theme of it’s own this month.

    Day 27

    November 27, 2008

Well, as much as I have to talk about the wireless connection isn’t much better than dial-up.

We had too much turkey, cauliflower-potatoes, stuffing, corn, olives, and waaaay too much pie.

The girls made snowflakes today, watched too much tv, and generally had a lot of fun.

I think the puppy is constipated. She has been eating the newspaper I put in the bottom of her bed, which she only sleeps in when the girls aren’t holding her. She hasn’t eaten anything today. The dry food I gave her this morning is still in her bowl, and still dry. I’m kinda worried. Maybe she’s just like a kid and just doesn’t eat some days. Maybe some of you have some advice on that front.

The girls are screaming, so I have to go. I was going to post photos, but like I said, dial-up.
