Hi!

Well the school held their annual Viking Run last Thursday and the girls did wonderfully.

SuperChic and Rapunzel both completed 22 laps. Each lap was 110 yards. The students had 20 minutes to do as many laps as they can.

We are very proud of them. SuperChic was only two laps shy of being the top girl in her class.

So, here’s the thing. Last year I asked if anyone was up to sponsoring the girls before they did the run. This year I chose to ask after because with the economy the way it is everyone’s in a bit of a financial bind.

All donations go directly towards the girls school. The money is used to help pay for field trips, classroom supplies, assemblies, playground and safety equipment.

First, thank you to everyone who entered the contest.

Second, since I have two girls and they both responded, “ME!!!!!”, when I asked who wanted to pick the winner, we chose two names. Rapunzel drew the winner and SuperChic the runner up.

Oh, well, I guess that means that I should tell you who the winners are, huh?

In true OMSH style we drew pieces of paper out of a basket.

The suspense was killing us. So of course she had to read it herself.

When I finally said show it to me already, she turned it around, and we all cracked up.

Because, yes, it does say BethanyActually. My first thought was, “maybe I can hand deliver this one.” And I promise, there was no fishing. I put them in the basket, Sue mixed them up and handed the basket to Rapunzel. Then Rapunzel waited for me to take a few photos before she could draw a winner. It was all very low key, and very fun.

Now, about the runner-up. I haven’t determined what the prize will be yet, but I promise it will be figured out by the end of today. So, here it is. Just for your viewing pleasure. (I sound like a commercial, don’t I?)
