    Sprinkles at Home

    April 4, 2008

Though I have never been (but want to), I have heard that Sprinkles is one of the best places to get cupcakes. So for those of you who want the cupcakes without the cash, or anyone like me, go here. At first I thought she was knocking off another recipe from someone like so many of the recipes are. But no, it really is a Sprinkles recipe.

    Day 2

    March 2, 2008

What do you do with two large bags of quick cooking oats you got for free from the food give away, you ask?

Why you make Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies, of course.

SuperChic loves chocolate chip cookies. She’s not so fond of oatmeal cookies, I think it may be the raisins. On their own they’re acceptable, in cookies they’re not.

So I found a recipe I liked and was easy, added extra vanilla, and we were off.

I use a cookie dough scoop to make the dough stretch. And so there’s no, Mommy, she took the big cookie syndrome.

    Baked them for 9 minutes.

And voila! Mostly even in size, perfectly yummy, oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.

And I did it while having six, yes six, kids in the house, trying to help, playing hot potato (while sitting down), and dancing in the living room.

It would probably be much more efficient if I just baked when they weren’t home, but where is the fun in that.

    Cupcakes!!!

    November 10, 2007

Once again I have not been able to work on part two of the story.

Instead, I slept in until about 9:30, made breakfast and 10:30, and headed over to mom’s at 12:30 to hang out with SAJ, Bethany Actually, and the kids.

I had the bright idea of making cupcakes and letting the kids decorate them. The kids had a great time, and the adults had fun watching them, but I don’t know if SAJ and Bethany really wanted that much sugar in their kids. I think they ate more toppings than actual cupcake. Though that’s where most of the sugar is.

Oh, well. I had fun. I hope it wasn’t to much for the rest of them.

    So Far So Good

    October 19, 2007

Well the first day of babysitting went well. No meltdowns on either side. SuperChic and JJ got along fabulously. The biggest problem we had was getting them to leave the bedroom door open.

They were very cute together. While in the car they announced that they were going to get married. After that the only time they were separate was if one of them was in the bathroom.  They even shared a goodnight kiss. But don’ttell anyone because it’s a secret.

So today we’re making a cheesecake, cleanin’ house and getting ready to go camping. We’re even taking JJ with us. Since his mom has to be at work at 5am on Saturday it works perfectly. It even covered her and her husband’s babysitting needs for their date night tonight.

It’s going to be one crazy day today.

Oh, I almost forgot. I even finished one of my knitting projects last night.
