    Pay It Forward

    November 30, 2007

    Wanna play a game?

Thanks to Sara at Unequivocally Moe, and Bethany Actually who sent me the link, I am participating in Pay it Forward - The Blog Edition. Here’s how it works: I will send handmade gifts to the first three people who leave a comment and tell me they are interested in playing. In order to play, you must have your own blog and you must continue to ‘pay it forward’ by promising the same thing to your readers.

Now, as far as the handmade gifts go, I don’t know yet what they will be. I also don’t know when I’ll get them sent. You may not receive the gift tomorrow or next week, but I do promise that it will get to you within the next 365 days! Sound good? I think it sounds great!

Remember, I will be choosing the first three people who respond by leaving a comment on this blog post. The requirements are that you have your own blog and are willing to send out three of your own homemade gifts (whatever you want to make, no rules or limitations here).

I am willing to ship my gifts anywhere in the world, so everyone is eligible to participate regardless of what country you are blogging from! Just please make sure you leave a valid e-mail address so I can contact you for shipping information.

So go ahead; leave a comment. Move this forward again. If I don’t know you, please leave your email address or some way to contact you.

Can’t wait to hear from you!

    Dreaming of a White Christmas

    November 29, 2007

And thanks to SAJ I found a way to make it snow inside.

    Snowflakes

The large snowflake was made using 8 1/2″ pieces, the medium 4 1/4″, and the small 2 1/8″. The medium size is a great size as a tree topper.

Here are the directions. The only thing that I did differently was to use a glue stick instead of a stapler on the two smaller sizes. But I did use the stapler to attach the pieces together on the medium one. The small is way to small to use a stapler anywhere.

This was fun and pretty simple. I think SuperChic could handle it with a little help and a lot of supervision. Older kids will have a blast. The kids will be making these in about two weeks. I’ll post photos of the chaos.

Tuesday the kids made paper chains that I’m sure you all remember from elementary school. They count down from December 1st to December 24th by taking one piece off every day.

    Craft Day

And I completed my Christmas cards. Last year I only got two made. So this was definitely progress.

    Gray Day

    November 28, 2007

Today was cold and dreary and I got absolutely nothing accomplished. Unless you count catching up on sleep and snuggling with SuperChic an accomplishment.

We started off the day by taking Rapunzel to school. When we got home we shared a bowl of cereal together while huddled cuddled under a blanket on the couch watching Jumanji. The movie finished just as it was time for SuperChic to go to school. It worked out perfect. She didn’t miss any of the movie so she was happy to get her shoes and backpack and head out the door.

I went home with the intention of doing laundry but it was to cold. So instead I sat on the couch fully dressed and covered up with two blankets. That was a bad idea. I fell asleep and woke up 2:30. It was time to go get the girls.

So here I sit at Ladybug’s so the girls can play and do homework and blog.  The bad thing is I eventually have to go back to my unheated apartment. We were attempting to use the heater but found that it didn’t put out enough heat to compensate for the amount of fumes it put out.  You could smell it for the first ten minutes you were inside and then you didn’t notice it anymore. That’s what makes carbon monoxide so dangerous.

Ugh, it’s time to get the girls and go home to the col, cold apartment.

    Countdown

    November 27, 2007

The countdown to Christmas break and Christmas day has officially begun.

All the kids made a chain calendar to count down to Christmas Eve. I only took a few photos and none of them wee good enough to post.

I have three more projects for them to do. One for each week before Christmas. We will be making reindeer, snowmen, and Christmas trees.

And I made my Christmas cards today. Tomorrow I’m going to try to finish BB’s dress. I need to make the overskirt, sleeves, and cape.
