    Sewing Frenzy

    June 18, 2008

    There has been a definite frenzy going on around here. A sewing frenzy that is.

    I have been trying to make at least two aprons a day and get them listed. I should be able to do more than that in one day, but with two kids stuck in the house because it is 107+ outside, it just isn’t happening. But so far so good.

    I started a new series for the 4th of July, Summer barbecue crowd I’m calling it star spangled, and all but two (which will be photographed and listed tomorrow) of the series is available in my Etsy shop.

    Star Spangled Griller

    I’ve completed the Master Griller’s apron;

    Star Spangled Griller

    the Jr. Griller’s Apron;

    Star Spangled Jr. Griller

    the Sous Chef’s apron(s);

    Star Spangled Women's Aprons

    and one of the mini Sous Chef aprons.

    Star Spangled Child's Apron

    I was on such a roll yesterday, but, last night, when I went to cut out another pattern, I couldn’t. SuperChic had made her bed on the floor in the living room. So instead I decided to work on a project that didn’t require full use of the cutting board. With many questions asked of Sue, at around midnight, I started. I worked without an actual pattern, instructions, or even another item to reference.

    My New Tote

    Considering all of that I am pretty happy with how it turned out. Shawn is even happier, because he didn’t have to spend money on this, this, or this, so I could have a new tote to use for BlogHer and San Francisco. And while he didn’t really understand why I wanted a new tote, he was going to let me get one, from Etsy, and not Target, where it would have been cheaper. (Though I really, really, want that cowgirl bag).

    Now I know all of you are dying to know what my new toy looks like. So here she is.

    Singer 7462

    I love her. She works wonderfully. I am a very happy person with lots of work to do.

    SAJ will blog it later on, but for those of you who don’t want to wait, meet June. She is available in my Etsy shop. There are more photos of her here, too.

    Goal Achieved

    April 24, 2008

    OK. I know it’s been forever and a day. I seem to be doing a whole lot of nothing lately. Well, I shouldn’t say that. I’ve been doing a lot of procrastinating and planning, and other variables of the same thing.

    First off, I want to thank everyone who supported the girls in the Viking Run. Rapunzel and SuperChic both met their goals. Rapunzel actually met both of her goals. (Rapunzel’s ultimate goal was to reach $100, which she did, with a little extra help form Auntie and Uncle Toby.)

    The girls earned a combined total of $180. I wish you could have seen their faces when they realized that they achieved their goals. There was lots of jumping and squealing and bounciness going on.

    Thank you Bethany, Bethany, Carrie, Auntie, Shawna, Grandma, Grandma, Papa, and Daddy.

    Day 1 Easter 2008

    March 15, 2008

    Today was a whole load of fun.

    We started by shopping for jellybeans for the cake we will make tomorrow.

    Then we came home had lunch, with more cheetos than sandwich, and a caffine free diet coke, or should I say a double diet coke, as Rapunzel puts it.

    Then we made Race Car Bunnies, played in the snow, ate a teeny tiny bit of candy, and had corned beef and cabbage for dinner.

    As my mom and I cleaned up the kitchen, SuperChic drfited into the tv room to sit with Papa. A few minutes later my mom’s cell phone rings, it’s my dad, calling from the tv room. I know it sounds funny, but it’s better than yelling for her. It’s like a personal paging device. Anyways, I wandered a bit there. My dad called to say that SuperChic crawled in his lap and died. Translation, she’s asleep and cruching me, please get teh camera, take a picture, and move her.

    So of course we obliged.

    Tomorrow I will upload more photos. The only ones we uploaded to my parents computer were ones that thye would want also.

    Not to leave you with another non-photo post you can go here to see Day 1 of our “Easter.”

    And just for you, here is a photo I found on teh computer, probably scanned in a few weeks ago. A major blast from the past, and you’ll get to see where I get my curliness from.
