    Day 1 Easter 2008

    March 15, 2008

Today was a whole load of fun.

We started by shopping for jellybeans for the cake we will make tomorrow.

Then we came home had lunch, with more cheetos than sandwich, and a caffine free diet coke, or should I say a double diet coke, as Rapunzel puts it.

Then we made Race Car Bunnies, played in the snow, ate a teeny tiny bit of candy, and had corned beef and cabbage for dinner.

As my mom and I cleaned up the kitchen, SuperChic drfited into the tv room to sit with Papa. A few minutes later my mom’s cell phone rings, it’s my dad, calling from the tv room. I know it sounds funny, but it’s better than yelling for her. It’s like a personal paging device. Anyways, I wandered a bit there. My dad called to say that SuperChic crawled in his lap and died. Translation, she’s asleep and cruching me, please get teh camera, take a picture, and move her.

    So of course we obliged.

Tomorrow I will upload more photos. The only ones we uploaded to my parents computer were ones that thye would want also.

Not to leave you with another non-photo post you can go here to see Day 1 of our “Easter.”

And just for you, here is a photo I found on teh computer, probably scanned in a few weeks ago. A major blast from the past, and you’ll get to see where I get my curliness from.

    Safe and Sound

    November 26, 2007

We made it home safe and sound today.

I don’t know when driving the 15 fwy became the equivalent of driving the 91, but it did. I was doing 85 going down Cajon and people were passing me like I was standing still. I know, I know, it was stupid thing to do but I was going the speed of traffic.

Sunday was spent eating candy, drinking Coke in a gold can, opening a present, eating ice cream and climbing all over Grandpa. Everyone had a great time including my Gram, who can act kind of weird when the kids are around sometimes.

My Gram turned 80 today. This was the reason for the little mini trip. As much as she hates to have her picture taken she allowed me these few. I tiold her it was a special day and that it was more for the girls than anything else. Which is mostly true, I really wanted them for me.

My Gram is very special to me and I treasure her like no other. I sneak photos whenever I can because I really, really want to have as many visual reminders as I can when she’s gone.

Oh, and Rapunzel ended up with new frames.

    Over the mountains

    November 25, 2007

    to Hesperia we go.

I’m taking the girls up to see my family today. We haven’t been up thee for a few months now and they really miss the girls.

Plus tomorrow my Gram turns 80. So I’m hoping to have a little celebration for her in some way.

I’m taking my camera so hopefully there will be some good photo opportunities.  If I’m back early enough I’ll post the photos tonight, otherwise hasta manana.

    Halloween

    November 2, 2007

Halloween was so much fun this year. Not that we don’t have fun every year. But this year we got to go with BB and Wito too.

We started out at the mall, but that was a bust. Go figure that they changed the policy this year.

So instead we hit the neighborhood and had a blast. After making the rounds with Whoorl and Wito we headed back to SAJ’s hitting every house along the way.

    Don't forget BB

Once back at SAJ’s the girls and I set out on our own. We crossed PCH and hit up the houses closer to the beach. It was great except for the utter darkness. There are no street lights and there wasn’t much of a moon. Actually I don’t remember seeing the moon at all.

SuperChic tired out after three or four more blocks and Papa had to come get her. I sent her back with about 6 pieces of candy and permission to eat all of it if she ate her dinner. I was told she ate two bites of dinner than went to bed. Candy-schmandy she just wanted Mommy.

At this point Rapunzel was getting a little spooked in all the darkness but no where ready to call it quits. She was getting handfuls of candy from every house. And we were repeatedly told you’re only the second, third, fourth person we’ve had all night. Here take some more.

Do you know what that means? It means we have an entire backpack full of candy. How much candy does it take to fill up a backpack? Fifteen pounds of candy. Yes, you read that right I said fifteen pounds of candy.

It’s even good candy. No funky mints and hard candy that no one likes. Lots of chocolate bars, pretzels, peanut butter (which SuperChic constantly tried to take out of her princess pumpkin all night long.), tootsie rolls, gummy food, and more.

    Shark Boy

Of course being the fair mommy that I am I divided all the candy equally. I started by removing all the peanut butter from SuperChic’s bag and setting it aside for Daddy. Next I removed Rapunzel’s peanut butter stuff and set it aside. Finally we combine all the candy and sort it by type. All the candy was equally divided and anything left over was set aside for SuperChic to look over. SuperChic gets one piece out of the surplus for every piece of Rapunzel’s peanut butter candy. Then if they have something they don’t want they can trade between themselves.

The good thing about this much candy is I can put some of it aside and use it for Christmas stocking stuffers.

    More photos here.
