Well things have progressed a little in the last week. We have more of our stuff in the garage, and more stuff at the pink house to get out.
It is slow going and having a rainy day doesn’t help things much. But eventually we’ll get everything out. Hopefully it will be soon or I’ll be moving it myself. Which I can do if I have to.
I don’t know how long we’ll be living in the garage. It’ll probably be for at least a few months though. Shawn leaves next week for Nebraska.
His departure date has been moved up from Friday to Wednesday. The girls and I aren’t to excited about him leaving, and for that fact neither is he. But the sooner he leaves the sooner he comes back, right? Rapunzel cries every time he gets a call about leaving. SuperChic doesn’t really understand what is happening. Though once he actually leaves on the truck and isn’t back before bedtime, she’ll get it.
The job hunt is still on. I never heard back from Citi-Bank. The next application is going in at our local Ace Hardware. I don’t know if they’re hiring, I also don’t care. They aren’t open past 7pm, they are within 2-miles of Ladybug’s, and part-time shouldn’t be to hard to get. They also have a cashier who is very pregnant. Hopefully that’ll mean an opening, even if it is only for a few months.
I am also going down to the local welfare office again. This time I am only applying for food stamps and Medi-Cal. By not asking for cash assistance I don’t have to work 32 hours a week, or go through their GAIN program for 32 hours a week, or jump through the 50 bazillion other little hoops they want me to jump through. It is also only temporary but right now we need the help. I can even tell them that I’m homeless, because technically we are. I’m not going to though, it won’t make a difference as far as the benefits go.
So now onto the next subject. Clearance stuff. I bought:
1. 6 pairs of dress up gloves - $1.50 - were $1 each
2. 2 books for BB - $.50 - were $1 each
3. 1 pack of six mini-pens - $.50 - was $1
4. 2 yoga mats - $1.24 - were $2.50 each
5. 6 pairs of mittens - $1.11 - were $1.49 for each 2-pack
6. 1 broken clear pitcher - $.25 (returned) Yes, I returned it and got my 27 cents back. - was $1
7. 1 not broken green pitcher - $1.00 (different purchase) -original price

So, counting the green pitcher (but not the clear one) I spent, $5.85 before tax. All of it, except the mittens was out of Target’s $1 section. And seeing that we are forever loosing my mittens and gloves because little people like to use them too, can always use more pens and dress up gloves, BB needs books for her upcoming trip, and what’s better than lift the flap books with a message, now SuperChic has a pitcher she can pour without it being too heavy for her, and I have no reason other than my own laziness not to start using the Pilates dvd I bought before we moved back to California. The dvd actually works, my mom is proof.
But here was my favorite purchase. Galoshes, rain boots, whatever you call them. No more wet feet for me.
